When did you find your 'hobby' of birds, became a business? Or do you still keep it a hobby?

When you have more birds than pens, when you need to buy more incubators, when you work full time at your "hobby" then it kind of becomes your business....

When it turns from 5 chickens running around the yard, to over 5000 Geese, Ducks, Swans, Cranes, Peafowl, Pheasants, Chickens, Quail, Pigeons, Partridge, Doves, Guineas and Turkeys....then I'd say its changed lol Razz . And to think - Im getting out of birds :S haha. Shocked I just ventured into the world of Cranes - Just purchased some East African Crowned Cranes - google them. Who wants on the waiting list? hha

A business when you are trying to make a profit or at least break even. Hobby when your just having fun. I'd classify myself between the two because I am sure not making a profit lol.

I like that Miry about pleasing yourself or pleasing others.
I think we all started out as a hobby, then started selling things to pay for our hobby, and then our hobby grew to support the demand and before long you have become a business.
Chickory I started out with a small flock of rescued hens, sold some eggs because I had too many, had to buy more birds because I had too many orders for eggs, started feeling the hot and cold market of eating eggs so started to hatch some chicks from the extra eggs, got so much demand for different chicks bought more birds, started getting demand for more chicks so bought a larger bator, now my hobby has become my business...
