I know someone told me last year the way to make my own but I forget how much sugar to how much water. There are tons of the little guys here this year, want to make sure I am feeding them right!

I've used 4 cups water to 1 cup sugar in the past and it seemed to work great. Love watching those little guys zip around. There's so many more in the country it seems than in town.

I do the same Coopslave
4 cups of water to 1 sugar thou in the beginning of the seson I make it a bit sweeter more like 1 1/4 cups sugar to 4 cups of water and no food coloring. We have lots and lots here and I currently have 3 big feeders up and have to replace them about every 3rd day.

When it's cooler - I use 2 cups of water to one cup of sugar - they love it!

The recipe here is 2 1/2 to 3 cups of sugar to 4 cups water. The water is heated in the microwave to make a super saturated solution of suger and then allowed to return to room temperature before being put in the hummingbird feeder. The feeders is the scene of many almost microscopic battles every day.
