Well, I finally received my double barred lemon cuckoo orpington hatching eggs yesterday! I have 23 out of 24 that made it! Now the wait is on to see how many will hatch! I am extremely excited for theses birds, and they are from 2 different breeders. I have been told I bought the nicest lines available by a few different breeders. Both breeders I bought from have been working very hard on keeping the best, they have culled heavily, so it should be a nice hatch....... If they hatch........ Chick Help

Greenfire Farms has lemon cuckoo Orps, and I'm sure there are pictures, but I'm having trouble loading the page today to check for sure. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
They are quite beautiful.

There is an explanation of the 'double barring' term here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I agree they are nice looking Birds
I was reading about them and it seems people are breeding them to the Buff orp to get more chicks on the ground
I guess they keep the color but lose type
The color is not as bright I guess
Keep us posted on the hatch

Thank you, I am very excited, I just hope I have a good hatch! This is my first time hatching eggs, so I hope all goes well. I have looked into this breed for a little while, and decided this is what I want, I like having a 'rarer' type bird. There are a lot of pictures of them from the states, trick is getting pure ones. Mine are from the Priscilla Middleton lines. I know that they were bought into the usa in 2010. They were imported from the uk. I cant say where I bought the eggs from as part of my agreement, but they are all npip certified and fully checked etc. I CAN say though, that if I have a successful hatch I will have A LOT for sale, lol, I only want 5 or 6 for myself, and the rest will have to go! No room here!

Just wondering if you have an update on the chicks? They must be getting all grown up and looking lovely by now. It would be great to see pics!
