so went to POPWA....

and now i am BROKE.....i DIDNT know they sell the birds seperate even if they are in the same box so i bid up to 42 dollars for a PAIR of white silkies.....well the 42 dollars was for ONE BIRD i owed 84 dollars for a PAIR of white silkies!! i just about puked when they told me how much i owed!!!![You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
i cant believe the prices there once i figured that out people were getting 100 dollars per cochin hen!!! good for sellers...bad for buyers!!! LOL that was my lesson learned for the day...and it is my birthday yet...what a birthday present! LOL

The prices were really high, like you say good for the sellers. Had a great visit with lots of nice chicken people.

Well first off Happy Birthday, 30 isnt bad, I turned 35 this year..
Those silkies are very nice looking, and yes some of these sales are confusing..I wish they would just sell by the box but I guess that way it gets good prices too..

How were the prices on other things? Sounds like the first sales of the year are off to a BIG Start.

everything went pretty crazy price wise...blue cochin hens went for almost 100 bucks each!!! there was 3 of them...i think it was the same buyer for them...someone has a 300 dollar flock of 3 blue cochin hens... good prices if your selling...i am definitly taking birds there next spring...

Wow that is awesome, they must have been great looking hens.
I am trying to arrange my schedule to come up the night before next year and then go to the sale, seems such a busy time of year for me but need to make it to one of them.

congrats to those that got good prices for their birds. But I know that sinking feeling at auctions when you suddenly discover that what you bid on, wasn't quite what you thought...
