Yesterday was the first day of school for teachers in the district I work in. So I got up in the morning, made myself presentable and headed off to the welcome back breakfast and speaker with 200 or so of my colleagues. I had on a pair of my 'Good Shoes" - the ones that don't get worn to visit the animals. About halfway through the entertainment of the morning I looked down at my feet to see a huge and fluffy silkie feather hanging off the bottom of one of my "Good Shoes". Knowing that it was most likely attached to my shoe with a good chunk of chicken poo too, I sent the rest of the time half hearing what the speaker was saying and half trying to maneuver the feather under my shoe and out of site without attracting attention.
