CHB Urban Farm Show, Nov 22-23, Red Deer, AB - Nationals!

Canadian Heritage breeds is very excited to be hosting the APA Canadian Nationals and CPFA Nationals this November!

Exhibitors, vendors, volunteers, sponsors, and spectators are all needed to make this event as spectacular as we are hoping it will be!

These NATIONAL shows are now only a little over 1 month away!   Exhibitors that means you only have a couple of weeks to decide which birds to enter, book your hotel, buy your banquet tickets...tell your birds to hurry up that moult and get in show shape!

We have a really great lineup of vendors with more signing on all the time so expect to be able to get some great Christmas gifts   . Items are also coming in for the Silent Auction and, if it's anything like pasted years, there will be everything from quality birds to unique handmade items to gift certificates up for bid!

There will be Chicken John's Petting Zoo , a heritage livestock display, and other activities for the children...

And there will be some quality poultry, waterfowl, turkeys and pigeons for sale.    

For anyone who is interested in the "behind the scenes" experience, CHB is absolutely looking for volunteers to help setup, feed/water the birds, assist in the show office or at the CHB table   , and help with children's activities.

Something for everyone, the show weekend certainly should not be missed out on!

I am very exciting that the show is fast approaching! Most of my birds are getting to the age they are starting to really full out and the old birds are just finishing their molt!

This is going to be such an amazing show! There will be so much going on during those 2 days...trade fair, silent auction, kids activities, petting zoo, sales area, livestock displays and wonderful roast beef buffet...not to mention the huge poultry, egg and pigeon show! I'm sure I'll be exhausted by Sunday evening! But its so exciting that the Canadian National is coming to Red Deer for the first time that the adrenaline should keep me going.

We also would love to go! Alyssa has a Cockerel and a Rooster that she would like to enter. Sadly there is a nasty mountain pass between here and there.

Time to start checking over the flock to decide what to show this year. Im also planning to bring a few to sell, so I should have quite a load! The sales area is going to be a great place to find some quality breeding stock for next spring. Breeders can rent a cage to display a bird to sell for 5.00 and then keep re-filling that spot as their birds are sold during the weekend. Birds brought to sell must also be healthy, clean and standard bred...same idea as the ones being entered in the show.

The deadline for poultry and pigeon entire of November 12th is fast approaching and the show itself is just a few weekends away. We expect to see a great turnout of exhibitors, vendors and spectators with something for everyone from 2 to 102 years young to enjoy!

Canadian Heritage Breeds is very pleased to be hosting the 4th annual Urban Farm Show on November 22nd-23rd in Red Deer, Alberta. This year’s show will be the venue for the Canadian National American Poultry Association Show and CHB is both excited and honored to be hosting this event.  Several very generous individuals and organization have already come forward to sponsor prizes for specific show classes and CHB is looking for donations to fill the remaining classes as outlined below.
