candler light which do you use

Hello all
First post here.
Question; What light do you use for candling? I need to get another one and see that there are lots of choices.
Also, does anyone have a link for Bothkin. ? I thought they were a supplier of poultry products but could not find anything.
All help appreciated.

All i have ever used is one of those little LED flashlights.. you know, maybe 2-3 inches in length.
Seem to work fine

That's what I use too...And a toilet paper tube.

An upgrade is lining the toilet paper tube with tinfoil.  

I have an old handmade candler. It's a box - almost shoebox sized - with a light mounted inside on the short end, and a hole about egg sized drilled in the long side just next to the light. Turn on the light (in a darkened room), hold the egg to the hole, and voila! Works like a charm.

Fresh batteries are necessary! I have the Halo 800 Lumens min flashlight - good for lots of things!

I use the flashlight app on my iphone since my mini led flashlight bit it.

I wanted an ova view HI candler, but cheaped out and bought a LED flashlight instead. I must say it works really well, even on blue and green eggs.

I have a homemade one as well just about the same as "farmchiq" I use a 100 watt light bulb. Used for candling my hatching eggs only.
