I promise, I will try not to whine and whinge about the weather all winter.

-11C this morning and then up to 9 by Tuesday? How about we split the difference and just stay around 4 thru the day and -3 at night. Good compromise, no?

Also, what is with this nice, warm sunny all week and then when the weekend hits, BOOM! Winter!!! Sigh, I know I will get used to it and stop complaining, well, may get sorta used to it no promises about the complaining! Laughing

Hey if you don't like the weather in Alberta, just wait 5 minutes. Temparatures from plus 20 to -20 overnight have happened even in the September month. The -40 with howling winds are the ones we all despise, this week is not so bad at all. Wink

I know you are not used to it but I love our changeable weather!  It keeps you on your toes!

Wait for that first Chinook!

It's not just Alberta. We get those temperature changes often in winter. "Mountain Weather" we call it here.

I try and have a list of things to do in different weather, never be caught last minute trying to tie down tarps in gale force winds etc. or go to town on foggy days. Takes some getting used to but nice if it is possible to be a bit flexible!

When my brother moved there over ten years ago he complained about it , and to this day he still says it's the hardest thing to adjust to , jackets in the morning, tee shirt in the afternoon ? Adaptation is the key I guess ?

-11C here right now. I always feel sorry for the animals. I know, I know, not even cold yet......

I did enjoy the sun I saw later today and I do also enjoy how much cheaper the wine is here......

Could always move here, where the forecaster is always right this time of year....and it sounds something like:

"chance of rain, chance of sun, chance of overcast skies, chance of cloud, chance of fog, chance of snow...." And the best part is, if you don't like the weather - wait a minute and blink - it will change. Unfortunately at this time of year, the rain is usually the dominating winner. Very Happy

Ya, not a lot of large-scale ranching going on on Gabriola Island, last I was there. But you have to retire somewhere right Coopslave? Twisted Evil

Yes, retirement. Don't think that word will be in our vocabulary unfortunately. When you live on the bones of your a** most of your life and work in an industry with no retirement fund, that word really does not exist.
BUT if I did retire in Canada it would be in Osoyoos or in Nova Scotia forcing ourselves on my nephew. I favour the Southern Hemisphere though. Maybe back to Oz or to NZ to help hubbies parents in their final years. Who knows for sure.....

The older I get the less able I am at getting use to winter. I can't complain much as our low is forecast for -5, but it is a damp cold. It would be nice to wash the van and have it stay clean until the next rip to town. The 2do list is changing from outside work to inside work.

don't they say Canada is the place where you can get four seasons in one day? Guess I'm noticing that. It is 9.46pm and tonight the snow is dripping off the roof! Weird weird weird . . . usually below zero by now.

I only just really realized what has happened in the Philippines, makes winter look like a holiday to me.
