How many of you use chicken tractors? Do you have pictures of them you could share?
I was looking at one for pastured poultry, thinking it would be nice for my young waterfowl to be able to be out on grass but not risk the cats getting them until they are a bit bigger. My Aussie spots and call ducks are just so tiny to free range until they are much older.

Old trampoline frames make great easy to move tractors when wrapped in heavy wire with netting over the top Smile They are easy for 1 person to move by rotating it.

Never thought of that Amy!!

Hubby is going to build me a larger one to move with our skidsteer. He will use rebar/ suckerrod to build the frame and then small wheels we can slide on one end when it is raised slightly so it can roll. Will take pics when he finally gets it built.

I have temp tractors which I love, and am looking to build a few quality ones. I am using a 5x10 6' high chain link dog run as my older chick pen right now and it works awesome!!

I had trampoline frames I have been collecting and they just seem so darn heavy. But today I wrapped one in wire, netted the top, put in a small dog house for shelter and turned the duckies out into it. Of course those darn call ducks and spotted ducks can get through the wire but for the most part stay in, were only out when I freightened them so hopefully they stay in now. Not sure how often I will be able to move it, maybe pull the ducks out and pull it with the quad then put them back in, but for now it will work. Just hoping that they will go into their house when it rains, or hails like yesterday.
I lost a tonne of ducklings a couple years ago in a hail storm, they couldnt find the way into their house and piled and got pelted with hail, poor things. So it makes me a bit nervous.

I wonder with the trampoline if you could screw a piece of plywood to the frame to give them some other shelter from above other than mesh, they would still have ample sunlight.

It's amazing what tiny holes ducks can squeeze through!! I put the tiny ducklings in the raised beds in our garden area that have small chicken wire to keep my adult duckies from eating the spinach and lettuce. I just put a piece of that white corrogated plastic over the top to make sure evil flying creatures wouldn't take off with my babies
