The first WhAm decided to lay this morning for the first time. No pullet egg for her, a full sized beauty.

So hard to show the true colour of a blue egg in a photo. Natural light seems to fade it and so does the flash burn. It is an ok colour, not stellar, but not brown either! Here it is with 2 of the dark winter layers and a Mottled Java egg.
She done good with the size didn't she?

Amazing size. Our pullets have just started laying and the eggs are pullet size but 3 different colours. One is a pale blu, one a pale blue green and one a definite olive colour. I love the different colours in the carton.

They have just been hiding the little ones on you, Coopie.

Normally that is what I would think too, Sue. There is no where, this time of year, for them to hide eggs. It is the nest or nowhere! Laughing (not really, but just open spaces and I would have seen them)

Not another yet today, she may be recovering from that one!

Coopie, the wheaton pullet I got from you this summer started laying a month or so ago, and it was full-size all the way for her, too! Must be something in that Beaverdell water ...
