Hi Although I was up for 36 hours I really enjoyed the show. I saw my
new silkies from Heather and a new buff orpington pullet for the first
time. Thank you to Bryan Shelton and Jack Robertson for getting the
birds to Manitoba for me. Heather the girls are simply gorgeous. Now
all i need is a couple of roosters the right color for my girls. Met
Joe and Darwin thank you guys for coming. Rico and (sorry can't
remember name) were there. You can always learn something by listening
to Rico. Make sure you sit close to him at the banquet . Rico, Thank
you for the old english pair. I am hoping to get my grandaughter
interested in chickens it will give me someone to show with and the
pair is just her size. I am not sure of all the wins but congrats to...

champion of show pastel call duck - Jack Robertson

A blue orp pullet was breed - Warren , a junior.
My buff orp cockerel was BV, RB thank you Cynthia
buff silkie BB thank you Heather.
. I am still tired . I am planning for next years show already. Can't wait...

well just got back and all the poultry put away where they belong.
It was a great show even tho Darwin and I played heck getting there it was freezing rain all day and night Darwin did not get home from work until 4:30 am on Sat he slept a hour and we left at 5:30am. They had hwy 1 closed from the Border all the way to Portage But Darwin is a great Driver and we made it about 9:30 I called and said we were going to be late cooping and Bryan said that was okay as others were going to be late also. Bryan is great.
Well enough Of our drive LOL.
Met Geri and Bryan and Finally met Rico great people and Beautiful Birds.
Did not do as good as Geri but here is what I did
Bantam Leghorn Cockerel was 2nd behind Rico's Cockerel who took 1st and BoB but I did beat 2 others so that was nice
Bantam Leghorn Pullet was 4th out of 7 so was happy with that also
Bantam rose comb Leghorn Bov and BoB
Blue Ameraucanna Pullet was BoV and then BoB with Competition so that was nice and to top it off I sold her LOL
Delawares were Bob and reserve but they were the only 2 there.
and I came home Thanks to Rico with 3 Beautiful Black OGEB a Cockerel and 2 Pullets.
Darwin said they were a belated Birthday Gift
Rico was gone when we got there to coop out as we showed up late which is a shame as Darwin said he wanted to get me a few more as he really likes they also.

It was great meeting everyone and am looking forward to next year show and their spring Show.

Sorry about writing a book LOL

Sorry your weather could have been better but sounds like it was fun.

Hi Reserve in show was either (i think) Bryan sheltons White wyandotte
pullet (big cloud like girl) or Bryans white OEG cockerel I hope
Bryan posts the results. He had a mitt full of trophies anyway
lolol. well deserved as he has lovely birds.
Just dug out the coop cards. My buff orp cockerel was res english . I think we had over 200 birds??
HEather , one of the girls has a weepy eye any suggestions on what to
use. I put in Polysporin eye drops but only could get 2 drops out of
the bottle. It must have gotten banged during transit.

Those two girls have had a very long trip to you, I did not relieze they were staying somewhere else until now. I would start them both on a mild antibotic if you have it just for about 3- 5 days, keep them warm and quite as they are used to our mild weather out here. Wash the eye and put some polysopin in it a couple times a day. I really hope they are not too stressed by all of this. They have been exposed to a lot of birds in their travels to you so make sure their food/water is where they can find it easily as they have big hair.Hoping they settle in well.

Hi Don't worry they are fine eating and drinking well . The eye is the
only problem. I have a heat lamp for them and it hasn't been too too
cold here lately . Bryans coop is heated so they were in good hands.
CAn youtell me when they were hatched ? GEri

Both are pullets- hatched about April/May of this year. The one girl I think has molted out a bit of her Crest if I remember correctly but it should come back in just fine. I am happy they were in good hands as I was worried about them last night. Love them lots they are a cute pair.

Yes we made down and back. The drive back was not very pleasant. Snow and blowing snow and then from Regina to Saskatoon we hit freezing rain and lots of it. Slow driving to Saskatoon and then at North Battleford we hit lots of snow and blowing snow again, but that is the prairies for you in the winter. Stopped a few times to refuel vehicle and ourselves. Birds survived the trip well.

The show was a little disappointing for the number of birds but it was nice to meet new exhibitors and visit with all the other exhibitors. I brought good quality birds down to the show and was able to sell a few, so hopefully that will get more people interested in the hobby and see some of those birds out west here.

We were pleased with our results, Champion and Reserve Feather Leg with Black Cochin "K" and "P". Champion and Reserve SCCL on White Leghorn "K" and "P" Champion and Reserve Heavy Ducks on Rouen "H" and "C". Reserve Champion Bantam on a Black OEG "K". All different birds then the CHB show.

Hopefully we will see the "Cluck and Quack" group and come support us next year in Red Deer.

Very nice to hear that all the travelling everyone did ended up with safe peoples' arrival. This is a time of travel that is just not good, for most winter travellers. Nice to hear of all these show results. And Geri, glad that the buff orpington cockerel that you hatched out was recognized in the show, good for you. I am sure that your wonderful care of him helps with him lookin' mighty fine. Have those wonderful days, CynthiaM.

Okay I didn't get to the show Crying or Very sad
But was wondering if the show is the same weekend every year. I am going to plan different next year, will stay at my girlfriend's in Winnipeg on the Friday night and do the show on the Saturday and tell my Son and Family I am arriving on the Sunday (lol). Grandson's hockey team got the socks beat off them, but my grandson scored two goals (these are up to six years old). My disability won't allow me to watch the older ones, come to think of it I was so stressed out, I barely watched any of the two games of my grandson,s.
Hubby is coming next year as I am not driving in that weather again. I tried to beat the weather in by going up on Thursday but didn't get back home until last night.
Glad you all had a good time, looking forward to next year.
