We have gotten permission from the Dutch Bantam club to host a Specialty Meet at the CHB Alberta Provincial Annual Show in Red Deer on November 23 - 25, 2012. We are getting extra prizes from some of the Americian Dutch Bantam members and once they are all received I will post what they are and for what placings. Lets have a great big Dutch show and show the Dutch Bantam Association that Canadians have and love the Dutch breed.

Great to see that there will be a Dutch Meet at the Nov show! I think I much prefer the look of the Dutch over dubbed Old English.

I would like to buy two hens and a rooster, but have not come across any for sale so far. I will not be attending the sale in November. Any ideas who is selling? Thank ewe.

No idea who specifically would be selling Dutch bantams at the show, but show exhibitors often sell some of their birds after the show. You can always approach them after judging is done to ask.

Or maybe they'll put a few birds into the poultry & pigeon display area. Would be a harder choice for you I guess living so far north, poultry sales stuff moves fast on Friday/Saturday and you can't approach exhibitors until Sunday.

Hi Duane,
Where is the Dutch website hiding?

Thanks!

I am going to try to attend and use my flying points to get there hopefully! I have Mille Fleur Dutch that I just love but will be keeping them at home.

I have enough blue light brown Dutch that I can sell a trio to you. No hatchery stock at all. From good lineage.

Unfortunately that's not the site.
"The site is no longer affiliated with the American Dutch Bantam Society but we have decided to continue it as a seperate entity due to the amount of interest it has generated. Between 1,400 and 2,000 visitors use this Dutch site each month." as posted.

Hard to become a member if you can't find the site?!

Oh dear, it sounds like there was some dissent there.

I am a member of the Dutch bantam club and have been for about 4 or 5 years. Last year the club decided that since there are so many members in Canada now and with more being interested that they would change the name from American Dutch Bantam Society to Dutch Bantam Society so as not to make it sound just for USA members. Also due to health and other issues a few of the board had to step down and now they are having to rebuild again. Also they closed the old website and are trying to get a new one up and running. I have called the treasurer of the club (and had to leave a message for her as she is out of state working until the weekend) to ask for the new membership forms and when the website will be up and running. I will let you all know as soon as I hear from her.

ChicoryFarm I love the Mille fleur Dutch too! What a nice color pattern on such a classic solid little bird.

You said it k.r.l. And this year I got a second colour shade - a lovely creamy buff mille fleur along with that stunning golden brown. My original breeding trio are from viczoe. Love 'em, love 'em, love 'em.

Gotta figure out how to get to the show in November and make it a safe journey, as well as an affordable one.

They do not have an application for membership form at this time, but it does have the mailing address to send the money. Please put your name and address as well as what colors that you raise. If you have any questions please send me an email and I will try and help.
I am looking forward to seeing lots of Dutch at the show and I found out for sure that we are getting some money and pictures, etc for prices that have been donated from some US Dutch Bantam breeders.
