thermometer question

if the thermometer is set with a 1 degree gap near the end is it 1 degree lower than it reads,my year old Brinsea has developed this gap(not impressed)

i think you need to heat it up in a pot of hot water until the two mercuries join up again before you can call it accurate....

I didn't know that trick miry. I give up on those thermometers not knowing I could do that. Thanks.

Careful you do not burst the thermometer.

yes you would just need it to reach the top temp where the blue or red line is, need to be careful w/ non heat safe thermometers.
