They cite animal welfare as an issue?? Give me a break! Caged layers are still legal in this country; no backyard chook could be worse off than that.

Why, I wonder, is the eastern half of the country so . . . umm. . . reluctant here. Vancouver and Victoria both allow backyard hens.
