Someone about 10 mins from me has a Female Maremma Guard dog, very friendly, lives with alpacas. 8 or 9 years old. Needs a home urgently. They are losing their farm, and are moving to town. The future is bleak for the dog if a home is not found quickly! Contact me for details.

If someone could transport her to regina, I could keep her here.

Milo, Ab

If transportation works out, she has found a home in Kelowna.

Will know for sure tomorrow!

I'm glad you found a home for her. I lost my Meremma a year ago and still miss her - she was a fabulous dog. My avatar is a painting of her.

She's here with me now.
And settling in nicely, she's very affectionate which I was surprised at.
Once I get some of her grooming issues dealt with she'll be as lovely on the outside as she is inside.
Only weird thing about her is I can't get her to drink water out of a bowl at all. She eats snow for hydration, so that coupled with wet food (chicken livers/hearts) is all she's getting for liquid at the moment. But she has been peeing fine so..... This is something we're going to have to figure out (the snow here won't last forever)
Oh......
I have pictures.

Her favourite spot, under my desk (she's here right now)

Congratulations on this beautiful girl.

I had a cat at one time, who wouldn't drink out of a water dish either unless it was raised so he didnt have to lean his neck down -- something to do with the swallow reflex I think. Perhaps its worth a try to elevate her dish and start by adding some beef or chicken broth to the bowl.

Just my experience with a cat, I don't know if it's transferrable or not! Good luck.

Awesome thanks, I'm willing to try anything as she still won't touch the water in the bowl.
So far I've tried melting snow in the bowl cuz maybe my tap water smells like chlorine to her. I've also tried a different bowl, but still she seems to only want snow.
I'll keep trying different options.
