The roo....still sick...still hanging in there.
I have fed him electrolytes-chicken vitamins- for 2 days
This am i tried some cat food and force fed him.
He is standing up..which is an improvement really...
but is so sick still...very weak
So, i am thinking he might need some real good energy food.
He eats his layer rations....
I just can't pull the plug on this guy...because it is my fault that he is like he is...nasty lice....

So, give me all your weak chicken recipees-remedies....
and i need to know quantities to feed.. I am going to force feed him for a few more days to see if he can get together some more strength..
Thanks..

try some corn syrup or water with sugar in it. Maybe he just needs a kick. Do you have any antibiotics just in case he has a secondary infection? You can syringe the water. Oh also hard boiled egg yolks!

Hey Bigrock, just looked in that little book about herbs. She has a recipe for homemade electrolytes:
1C water
2 teaspoons sugar
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp baking soda

use full strength on severely ailing chickens, otherwise mix into their drinking water as needed, one cup per gallon of water.

I was going to suggest sugar water as well, as I have used that on many species.

I'd try a good water soluble antibiotics align with a electrolyte mix . We use both on ducks that aren't doing well (runny eyes frozen feet or just not gaining weight) good luck
