Joe, did you ever find the doors for your Sportsman?  A few years ago when I bought my old 1202 I couldn't bear the thought of not being able to see what was going on inside, so we cut a hole for a window into the door.  A pilot friend had some plexiglass used in airplanes, which worked great for a window. We sealed all around and there is no air leakage.
My old 1202 is a dependable incubator, but needed the viewing window to make it awesome. Very Happy

Thanks Kathy
Never did find any and I even checked with the company and they said no they don t make the doors any mor and suggested to have them made at a window shop
Funny you brought this post back up as Darwin was just saying maybe he should just cut a hole in the door and seal a piece of Plexiglass in it. Glad to see it worked for you so I will show him then he can do it
Thanks
Joe

Joe we have some heavy sheets of pexiglass we got out of a racket ball court. We planned to use them for a greenhouse but have been told since they are not UV stable they will just crack in time.
If you were closer I would let you cut a couple doors out of it.
When we had an old sportsman that we were borrowing years ago we cut a door for it, worked great.

When you look at these new sportsman incubators, the window is cut in the middle of the door, a very thin piece of pexiglass is silicone and screwed on the inside of the hole. Wouldn't be hard to do, thin pexi is easy to find, and as long as it is sealed you shouldn't have much heat loss.

I am so grateful that my sportsman, as old as time itself, has the acrylic doors.  It is so nice to be able to look inside without opening it, I could not even begin to imagine what it would be like to have nothing to see when I look at the unit.  worth its weight in gold.  And for sure, plexiglass would work, why not, Kathy's is a fine example of how the unit can be revamped.  This is what mine looks like.  Have a wonderful day, CynthiaM.

The racks don't turn, they stay level, it is the baskets that turn from side to side, total different type of set up than most sportsman style. This is designed for goose and emu egg hatching, but works just fine with chicken and duck and turkey eggs too. The hardware cloth and bands hold the eggs in place and the eggs lay flat. I used to hatch in the egg cartons in the baskets, but I think that maybe the egg cartons might absorb moisture and not good, not sure, but I am going back to not using the egg cartons and eggs sitting laying down, in the natural position below a hen.
