Just arrived Saturday evening, my beautiful new pullets and cockerel! I am very excited to have added these birds to my flock. They are a July hatch, so still quite young. I can't wait to see how they grow up!

they're beautiful! I joined the dark side too, am so enamored with the four I have from Coopslave. They are unique - they don't think like the other kids. I call them Xena, Warrior Princess - 1,2,3 and 4. One has begun to get a little adventurous, flown out of the coop once and today I found her on the pole by the gate which is 50% of an escape.

I didn't have much time to post yesterday. They are a nice start Authentic. Sure have lots of growing to do yet. I find mine are not really fully grown and I know what I have, until they are almost 2. That first big moult after their first year really shows you what you have.
Like Magdelan says, I find them very different than other breeds I have had, how are you finding they compare with the Whites Authentic?

Anyways, we will have a bit of fun together on the dark side of the Chantecler. Wink

Ah, now isn't that just nice. I wonder.....did you get them from Coopslave? Saturday night and when she got to Alberta, just kind of ring a bell, smiling. Beautiful anyways, and nice they are being spread around! Have a beautiful day, CynthiaM.

They're pretty funny so far. They're still getting used to us, so I can't comment too much on their personalities yet. They're curious, want to see what's going on. I had the door open to take photos and I had to keep chasing them back from the camera, they wanted to see it much more closely than I was comfortable with. At night, all four of them try to cram into the nestbox of their chicken tractor to sleep.

Physically, compared to my whites, they are far superior. Much larger, much better type, much more consistent. My whites are friendlier, but they were raised here and have been handled a lot.

Cynthia, nope, these ones are not from coopslave - though I see that happening in 2014 if I have my way! - these ones are from our own k.r.l., who was kind enough to hook a newbie up with some quality birds. Good Partridge Chanteclers are really hard to find!
