Maybe writing my scathing amazon review last night put me in the mood to rant, but I'm once again annoyed.

I re-posted our Market style sale ad and browsed the free ads to see it come up first thing!  On the first page alone, there were 8 ads for free dogs and/or cats.  Not one of them cited a death in the family, dire health issues or a frank admission of a lack of willingness to prioritize their lives to previous obligations.  Instead, there was post after post reading "just dont have time for them, don't have time, have 2 kids, need to travel blah blah blah."

I'm sorry to hear YOUR life is inconvenienced by another life.  Unfortunately for you, when you get bored of your children because you can't travel the world or buy anything you like, you can't just GIVE the kid away or have them euthanized.  But, I suppose, you can pawn it off on some poor sap at a daycare for an extended period, or leave them with that drug addict that walks downtown all the time.

Moose and I have come to an understanding that we will, for as long as we own the farm and have more than one dog, take separate vacations and lead separate family lives because someone ALWAYS has to be here.  THIS SUCKS.  It's annoying, hurtful and drives me up the wall.  However I don't believe in giving animals away because they are an inconvenience on your time (if they are gate crashing, garden eating goats on the other hand......).  I also wouldn't trade this life for the half ounce of convenience it would give me. It's Ridiculous!  It's annoying, and it's idiotic.  You should have to write a test before you can have kids or pets.  Depending on how miserably you fail, your punishment could be sterilization or death.

OR

We can just do as a friend of mine says: Remove the laws that govern seat belts and helmets, and take the warning lables off products.  Then, stupidity will solve itself.

Welcome to the disposable society. If it is inconvenient, throw it out. If you are unhappy go on a trip, surely you will find peace of mind somewhere else.

Living here alone, I have spent years not going away because of all the critters. Now, I just budget an extra amount for a farmsitter. I have found 3 lovely young women who adore my place, and who are all saving up for Europe trips and appreciate the $, and in some cases, appreciate having a home to stay at with her boyfriend. Smile  I leave extensive instructions, do an orientation before I leave, and I go away and leave it in their hands, knowing that $#!? can and does happen, and it may happen while I'm gone, but likely (given the extensive instructions) it is not because I'm gone, and would have happened with me there anyway.

Go with your Honey on your holidays Sweetened. Find a way.

Oh, you nailed it Sweetened. So did BCKev.

Gordon forbid that any of us should damage our delicate sense of self by having to tolerate anything uncomfortable or inconvenient. No no. We must be happy, we must be fulfilled. We must put our selves first. We must seek satisfaction and self realization. You have no one to answer to in this life but yourself.

WRONG!

You have no one to answer FOR in this life but yourself, but you are accountable for the crap you perpetrate on others. Oh yes you are! And failing to make the necessary sacrifices is a FAILURE! YOu very well may have a lot of people/living beings that you need to answer to.

I will admit there are gray areas here. BUt overall humans are lazy and cowardly. None of US, but THEM. THey is bad.
