Not here, but a little bird tells me that Cynthia has the sweet sounds of amphibians. Spring is here!

I've been hearing them here, but I think they went back to ground right around my house and on my property. It was so warm for a while, now it's back to negative temps overnight. There's a big dugout on my neighbour's property that I heard frogs at on Thursday, but that's a fairly big bit of water.

Dam, you BCers! It is snowing here now.

Cynthia, we have two types of frog calls. One is the traditional croak and the other sounds like a duck discussion. The toads sound like a high pitched trill.

There is a frog chorus here at night, but maybe they'll head to winter quarters as it is cold and miserable here today with some flakes of snow floating in the air. We had some mosquitos around at Easter time when we had some spring like weather.

While digging through brush piles came across a small toad and also a dopey lizard. I have heard some frogs, not many. We have escaped the snow, which is odd for us, we're usually in the thick of it at this elevation. BUt it is not warm. I have a feeling the gladiola bulbs I planted last week are going to rot before they grow.

They have been singing up a storm in our magickal little valley since April 1st. The little frog who lived in our shop all winter was perched on my shoe the other day, indicating it was time to go out with the others perhaps. That was when it was plus 12 and sunny, now it is plus 2 and snowy. Oh, well! We have some creeks and a big pond here, so when they get into full swing it can be deafening, but I love it!

Can't wait to get back there.....All we have here right now is "snow" and wind.

Our daughter went back 2 yrs ago, lucky thing!!!! She couldn't stand it out here, don't blame her.

She's heard frogs, I love listening to frogs singing away.... 6 months of this crap is enough already. Sad

Did I mention I hate winter??

March 1st is the first night I heard the Amphibian Orchestra and its doing nothing but getting louder. By now I'm used to it though.
