I'm expecting, HUZZAH! I'm super excited about the eggs I'll be receiving as they'll help me with my project birds, very much so.

Anyway, if the eggs arrive alright, do they need to settle a certain way, or can I offer them to my broody girl right away? If they need to settle, what direction to I prop them/lay them and for how long?

Thanks so much!

I've read that you should let them rest, fat end up, for 24 hours before setting them.

I have no actual experience, so hopefully someone better will chime in.

Leave them sit fat end up for at least 24 hours. If they arrive shook up leave them sit at least 48 hours!! Good luck!

How does one determine if they were "Shook up"?

Candle them and if you see uneven air cells or wobbly lines that look like waves or air cells that are on the side instead of the top where they should be.
I think resting them 24 hours can often stabilize the air cells.
