I am getting some poults from here this year, but don't know if they ship eggs or not.

I'm going to have a small selection from Rochester BBB for sale. I would really be interested in swapping so we don't end up with a flock too closely related.

Hahaha Rosewood that is funny Smile
OK so we are a long ways away from each other unless we fly like the birds...I dont know that I am making a trip anywhere near you this summer but if I do I would be willing ot swap you a turkey tom. If that is what you are asking :)I would likely just eat him though as Ive head BBB arent much good at mating hens without crushing them

I'm getting Blue Slate. I'm told by the breeder that they can still breed naturally. Very Happy

I'm sorry but it just eggs I have for sale and not the whole turkey. These are naturally breeding ancestors of the bronze commercial turkeys. We are looking for an unrelated male for next year. The Rochester BBB turkeys have become an endangered variety since the original flock was culled because of salmonella.

Oh ok I understand now...I didnt realize that any of them would breed...without a lot of help at least. Or that anyone had bothered to preserve them. Good for you Smile Im sure others have...just didnt cross my mind. So what are your BBB eggs price?

The commercial BBBs are bred by AI, but Rochester had a flock of naturally breeding BBBs until 2010. The salmonella came in with the chickens they imported from the US. Rochester now sells Orloff turkeys which are hybrids. There are not a lot of the old Rochester turkeys around. We had them given to us starting with a pair of poults last fall and then their parents this spring. The eggs are from the parents. I would $4 per egg for them.
