Hehehehe!

But also, ew. Peeps are gross.

I had hoped to be working on my coop over the Easter break, but there are several feet of snow in the way. Maybe next week ... or the week after ... how long does it take for 5 and 6 foot high drifts to melt?

If you had Peeps, you wouldn't need a coop.

Me I'm raking, burning, raking, burning, pruning, burning, gathering junk that falls out of trees, burning.

Putting netting around the big garden box, netting around the blueberry bushes. Chicken wire cage around the tea rose. Netting over the hydrangea and azalea. Stretch netting over the strawberries. My garden is butt ugly. I hate deer. Evil or Very Mad

Have been working and working and hauling and raking and digging and building. At the end of the day my body HURTS! Sucks getting old. Today Hub asked if I was putting on a big dinner for Easter. With pruning shears in one hand, rake in the other, garden and forest debris all around me I said, read my lips. Because this is a G rated site, I cannot tell you what my lips said.

I thought I was going to have to cook a turkey for my inlaws, but I have been saved by some great power that has decided that I should not have to cook and clean my house this Easter as we have no water at the moment. It is horrible having to melt snow to flush the toilets, but I will not have to cook. It has only been 8 hours, but I am already needing a hot bath!

I will likely spend several more hours transplanting. I have peppers everywhere. Will post some updated greenhouse pics for you too Sue!

Got a big weekend coming. My Sister and her clan from the coast are coming up. They left yesterday, stayed overnight in Cache Creek at a motel, then enroute here this morning. Gonna be fun!! The weather is beautiful, it was t-shirt weather yesterday and the day before and only barely hit zero last night. Glorious sunshine, the snow has been long gone and green grass is growing everywhere. I think it is a very early spring. I cleaned house yesterday like a mad demon and cleaned our deck, put our deck furniture on, and we are good to go. Sister and clan will stay until Sunday morning and then leave. They are sleeping in our oldest Daughter's motorhome, right close to our home, so ya, party on!! Food, drink and family, lots of family and their dogs, smiling, lots of dogs this weekend here, with her total there will be 11.

Monday, youngest Daughter is putting on a turkey dinner at her place. Farmchiq is coming to hang out with us for the day, that will be nice. I am supplying the turkey (got a good deal when I purchased more than $25 worth of groceries at IGA just after Christmas, ya, no heritage bird, but store bought, pretty good, but not like heritage for sure). I will make a good part of the veggies to take the load off Daughter and we will hang out up there at her place. Probably a good deal of outdoor activities, maybe some quading, well, sure of some quading...and food and drink and fun. Jam packed weekend. Oh yes, have a hatch beginning on Monday too, so gonna toggle everywhere, from here to there, dale to dale. Have a wonderful Easter weekend everyone, and beautiful days, CynthiaM.

I will be on the hunt for eggs for the bator. I just checked an egg from one of the orp pens (I have 3) and it was fertile. Can't wait can''t wait can't wait
My mom will be 75 years young on Sunday and we are having a birthday dinner for her. I even got the night off ( i work work every weekend! sigh) so I don't have to work and I can go. I hate working nights. But I guess I shouldn't complain I have a job .
Happy Easter everyone may the bunny be good to you this year. However I do think there is a shortage of Peeps. Walmart sold out and I will have to hunt for some tomorrow. I love Peeps. Last year I kept buying them for the grandkids but I just had to eat them . Must have bought 5 packages. Gotta have em

me, I will be working. Today was a Super Stat (we get paid double time) Saturday, Sunday are regular hours and Monday is time and a half (regular stat) It is so early and I am not a morning person, Yawn! We will be having soup for Easter dinner or whatever hubby decides on...he is the cook when I work early days. I have gone 6 weeks without a weekend off and will go until April 21 until one shows up on my schedule. Probably be so exhausted that we will stay home. Haven't been to Vancouver to friende's or go shopping in months...whine, whine, whine....

I have Delaware and Dark Cornish due to hatch on Monday. I have some Gold Laced Wyandotte eggs collected to put in the incubator next week. I was figuring on putting in 42 eggs, but one of the turner sections broken so I only need a few more eggs to fill what is left. Some family coming on Sunday which means I'm helping Oma in the kitchen by doing some of the cooking. At some point in time there will be a grandparent's arranged Easter egg hunt (they had a parents' type hunt today which we watched from the safety of our house).

Going to my SIL's house where we will set loose the children on the cats and sit inside and enjoy each others company. Maybe drink wine too because it would be rude to refuse wine.

got the kitchen cleaned out and the logs chinked, so today the new beam for the lights goes up, logs are varnished wall painted, the new floor down and the cabinets in place. Toybaron is my hero, she knows how to do an easte weekend, I have a lot to learn from her, or maybe my wife has a lot to learn this kitchen thing was her idea.

I have been and am spending the whole weekend at my sister's place in Roberts Creek on the coast. It has been glorious weather, just glorious! We have eaten, laughed, celebrated her youngest son, Kevin's 21st birthday, gone to a Farmer/Artisan market, sat reading/talking/crying/laughing together in the sun, watched a terrible hockey game and slept well in the knowledge that we are loved.

The boys (two of their 3 sons) left for Vancouver yesterday morning to ring in K's birthday.

Today is a new day and we have no special plans, but maybe we'll go for a drive, take the dogs for a walk to the beach, do some more eating (ham!) and have some more laughs. No plans. I was kind of hoping I could connect with CuckooMama while I'm here, but I just read her post and it sounds like she's working hard and long all weekend.

CuckooMama if you read this, give me a sign if you want to meet up really quickly. Wink No worries if not, I can see you're working.

My sister and her husband have a small band of chickens that we have enjoyed watching, and whose eggs graced our breakfast table yesterday.

Life is good. Happy Easter all.

We are opening easter baskets (kids are) and finding hidden easter eggs, and having home grown ham for dinner. I WISH I was getting my kitchen done!

I will be glad when it is done, it is a little slower than I had planned. I keep having people come by to buy chicks and staying to look at the sheep etc. Has been a great weekend though, which is great for keeping the windows open to vent the fumes from the paint and varathane.

Landed up cooking....on the plus side, I got a chance to make a fruit pizza with my girls. They had a good time and everyone loved it. Turned out pretty well.

I am walking my last 20 bred Highland cows from my husband's ranch to my ranch. Seven kilometers along a dirt road. That's the last of the cows off my husband's ranch so his hay can start growing and the bred cows will be "in position" to start calving at my place (I have a nice "system" of corrals and pastures set up). The cows know exactly what is going on and it will be a festive occasion.

I love my cows and these are particularly beautiful and intelligent specimens.
