Lance and Claire Hilton have two wonderful girls in the Westbrook School, and in recent months Claire has been diagnosed with a rare but fast moving disease known as Lyme disease, acquired from a bite from a tick found on one of their alpacas.
As this is a relatively unknown disease to Canadian doctors it took several tests and sending blood samples to the US to discover the cause of her symptoms, in the meantime the symptoms have made simple day to day jobs almost impossible for Claire.
Lance is not only the only working parent in the family now, but must also take time off work to take Claire to the doctor appointments and purchase expensive but necessary medication.
On June 12th at Dartique Hall, a fundraiser will be held to help raise much needed money for this family to keep their day to day expenses met as well as expensive medication; also a part time assistant to help Claire with household duties that on some days are impossible for her to do and on good days extremely challenging.
A dinner and silent auction will be held, with a full roast beef buffet and great items up for auction. Tickets are $20/person or $50.00/family of up to 5. A cash bar will be open throughout the event with a dance to follow.
Purchase a ticket and/or donate an item for auction. Every little bit helps. Cash donations of any amount can be made as well.

Those that live close by I hope you can make it out to support this great lady. I have known Claire for 3 years now and she is such a wonderful person. I have seen her at her best and talked to her at her worst. Claire is a very proud woman, she seems to power through even the most difficult times with a smile on her face. I am very blessed to know Claire and her family and look forward to spending many more years as friends.
