I’ve been making some changes in the breeds/varieties I'm choosing to focus on, and I’ve decided I will no longer be breeding Blue and Black Orpingtons.
I have a nice starter flock for sale – 3 Black pullets and 1 blue cockerel hatched April 2012.
The hens are beautiful, big and solid weighing 6 lbs, 6.5 and 7.7 lbs. The cockerel is now at 8.6. I will be asking $130.00 for the group of 4. I can deliver to Wetaskiwin Show on family day weekend, otherwise farm pick-up is required before Feb 15th.
ILT vaccinations are up to date.
I also have 2 older Blue Orpington hens (2011) that could go with the group or be sold separately.
If interested please I'll ask that you please use email to discuss further. I find it much easier to stay organized that way: hawthorn@xplornet.com Smile Thanks!

Hey Kathy,

Where do your lines come from?

Kathy, wow, looks like you are really starting to figure out WHAT you really want to be focusing on, not hard to guess, smiling. One colour of orpington is enough and that will keep you hopping. I full well know that you have some beautiful blues and blacks and this would be a very nice acquisition for someone. (don't ever stop with breeding blue and black cochins, smiling). Have a most wonderful day, CynthiaM.

Thanks Cynthia Wink
Yes, I dearly love the blue color, but it certainly has its challenges. The thought of working with 2 breeds in this color is just too daunting. I will definitely be sticking with the Blue Cochins though!
Jonny, these lines are from Marsha Small and Heidi Shuster.
