Just got back from meeting CBrookKelly, her hubby and son, and CynthiaM, and Uno and her hubby. It was great to meet the CBrook family!

Sue we mentioned you over coffee today. We all agreed that we wish you could have been there too.

Kelly and family (including a lucky puppy or more - I'm not giving away her news) are back on the road. It was great to meet them! Their son Albert is the most ticklish boy I've met in a long time so I had a good time entertaining myself while the adults talked over coffee. Twisted Evil

I see that Kelly and her family and I have more in common than just a love for a rural address. I wonder, who else rides on this forum? Motorcycles, that is. Fess up!

Great that you got to meet more people on the site.
Well in our house my husband rides the motorbike and me well I ride my horse, so both with horse power Laughing and a horse you can ride all year. Here in Alberta DH only gets the bike out in nice weather.

Started with a dirt bike , went to a street bike ,then a chopper ,and if I can convince the wife that I won't kill myself I'll get a Harley in a few years .My wife took horse back rideing lesson's when she was a teenager ,barrel raceing etc etc ? not sure what was all involved ,never meet a horse yet that didn't try to bite me ? Always lioked the look of a Morgan ,even was offered two for free once but just don't have the time or patience to have one ............moterized horses need less work

I've done both. Was a horse-crazy kid and finally bought my own first horse at age 35. So for a dozen + years I've owned horses. Bought my first bike just before moving in with then-boyfriend-then-husband-now-X-husband, and have enjoyed that as weather and time permit. I'm definitely a fair-weather rider. Recently had to make some difficult decisions and horses are laid to rest. Bought a new-to-me bike because I am a) making decisions for myself and my animals and nobody else, and b) because of a, I am also buying my own Christmas presents. So.... santa

I loved my horses pretty deeply. I may not have another 4-legged horse, but am very blessed with lots of friends who ride and have horses to share with me. I'm so lucky for that. And so I'm going to simplify and downsize to a degree. Gorgeous all-aluminum 3h trailer that was to be my conveyance to the shows I hoped to attend is for sale. Tack? Not sure about that for now. A good saddle(s) is something to be cherished and as it doesn't cost me anything to keep, I think I just may. So it's motorcycle horsepower for me for now, and I'm all good with that. Right now my new bike and my old bike are keeping each other company in the barn, neither requiring hay nor mucking out, foot trims or early-morning tromps through the snow in the bathrobe to chuck hay. I am content for now.

Would love to learn of other riders who might want to meet up in summer. sunny

Aw, you guys are sweet...and way too far away!

I have always driven a car. A small one. I have a little truck now and love it! Doug, however, restores old motorcycles. So far he completed a 1974 KZ 400 (Kawasaki), and is now doing a 1968 Honda Sloper 175, a 1962 BSA Super Rocket and a 1978 XS 1100 Yamaha and a 1982 XS 1100 Yamaha. Yes, he is a little obsessive regarding his hobbies.

Sue, for Doug, my first bike which I still have is a stock 1978 Honda CB400 with *just* over 10,000 kms on it. I really like old bikes too. There's a guy who rides around my town on an old Indian because it's light enough to ride in the snow with his feet dragging for 4-point traction.

Bikers are just crazy, is I think where that's going....
