Squeezed some acrylic paint on the edge. I did this with several colors then swirled the paint in the ball. Then i set the ball in the container to dry, turning it every once in awhile so the paint would run in all directions.

My paint was thick so i added more alcohol to the ball but i think this was a bad idea as the paint is taking a long time to dry and running too much from the sides. The next one i make i will use runny paint before i put it in the ball.

I will make another one tomorrow and take pic's as i go so you can see, Uno has set the bar high on tutorials...eeek!

WooHOO christmas balls, I love the way the first one turned out but that could be because my favorite color is green Shocked

Are they glass or plastic? I'm thinking this would be a good craft for my hooligans.

Never mind I didn't read it properly question answered !! Embarassed

Acrylic xmas balls...by Prairie Chick

There is a lot of flicking of the wrist for this project so if you have bad wrists this may not be the project for you.
I used large glass balls for this project.
First gather your paints and take the top off your glass ball

drip your paint on the edge of the ball, I think it would also work if you just dropped the paint anywhere inside the ball.

Above the sink i held the ball in my hand and flicked it back and forth as well as hitting it gentle on my other hand, moving the paint inside. This took me about 15 minutes.

Continue until all glass is covered

Now for my disaster...This is why you don`t add rubbing alcohol. The paint separated inside the ball.

This concludes Prairie Chicks xmas ball tutorial, enjoy your balls Very Happy

Keep rubbing alcohol away from balls. Got it!
