We live in a small mountain valley above he town of Barriere. The farthest mountain in the third photo above overlooks the town.

The town of Barriere is at 373 metres. We would be close to 400 metres at our location.

Love the pics of your herd and that garden shot very nice. Do your sunflowers grow well with your corn?

The sunflowers pictured with the corn were dwarf sunflowers. This one grew with the potatoes.

Barriere gets snow in the winter. Some years we get a lot and some just a little. Part way through the day yesterday (Dec 13) our light snowfall turned into a heavy snowfall. At around 7:30 PM last evening the power off, came back on and went off again and right back on. We got a flashlight handy and filled some ice cream buckets with water. Just as I was headed for my evening shower the power went off again and back on and back off, but this time they stayed off (no power, no shower here). We went to bed, but were awaken about 1:30 AM when the power came back on. I took my shower. The power went off again and stayed off until 4:00 PM today. Except for not having water and a hundred things that can only be done with electricity with wood heat we are warm and can still be fed. Most important is we have a coffee pot that works on the gas stove.
I have a photo from another year, but we certainly moved to a year with lots of snow this week.
