Baby Bears!

I am lucky to have discovered a den of baby bears on my property. I will post more pictures later, but for now you will have to be satisfied with the little avatar to the left. I waited until Mom had left her den and was foraging around outside the kitchen...oops...cave. I took the chance to pick up some of the little bears. Adorable creatures. Eyes just opened. I had Doug take a few quick snaps before mom was barking...oops...growling to get in. Hard to believe they will grow to be 15 lbs...oops...1500 lbs!

Those are definitely as cuddly looking as little black teddy bears. Absolutely adorable.

Have you heard that the Black Schipalorpe is the nastiest cross out there? Take a nasty little chicken and cross it with any terrier-like breed of dog and you are just asking for trouble.

Never fear about my safety. I have been handling baby bears just like this one for over 20 years and have gotten to the point where I can tame them within 6 months so they do not eat the judge when I place them on a table at a show.

You place judges on a table at a show? Weird.

How do I know that's you holding the bear cub? Your model like thin and elegant fingers would be a dead give away. Obviously the hands of a woman who does not work, but strolls around stroking her Russian lynx belly, full length coat. The hands found only on those who live a life of luxury. I know! I have the same hands, apparently.

Put the bear down and back away slowly.
