Teen girl with practical view on chicken farming

I came across this article this morning that was posted on the CLUCK Red Deer facebook page and just had to share it. This girl is very bright and she sure knows how to cater to her customer's expectations. She's also got all her expenses figured out, and uses those figures to price her products in order to make a profit. Some adults could benefit from her practical approach to running a farming business!

A perfect analysis of the situation. I wish I could get $20 for a broiler and more than $4 for a dozen eggs. Sheesh!

What a good read. The young authors is smart, has learned from experience, and has the ability to pass that knowledge on to others. Talk about mature befor her years.

Articles like this one are what the general public needs to read but sadly most never will.

I think I shall print up copies in this young entrepreneur's article and give it to people who complain that my $3 a dozen eggs are too expensive.

What kind of chickens is she raising and where do I get some? I really want chickens that lay 7 to 12 eggs a WEEK.
