Best way to catch a weasel

I have a resident that I wish to exterminate!! I have set a one way trap and a three way trap and have not gotten him, what is the best way to trap one from experience? He also seems to know when I am around with the gun as I never get to see him while packing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am loosing birds like crazy!

I have not been able to catch one myself, but I have looked at the box traps on youtube for catching them.
I think it uses something like a rattrap but it is in a box with openings at each end as I read that they wont go into a box without another opening at the back?
Also you set the trap the opposite way than you would think to the opening.

Step 1) obtain rocking chair
2) place rocking chair in plain view of chicken coop, preferably if you can see the hole where the weasel heads in/out of the coop
3) Get shot gun or .22 (personal preference)
4) Get in that rocking chair and wait. If you have a second person, have them stand behind you with a flash light.
5) See the weasel and BLAMMO!

Worked for us anways. Well, minus the rocking chair but that would have made it more comfortable.

I've always used parts of the dead birds they've killed in the traps. Once they get a taste, they can't resist the smell.

EVERY carnivore loves bacon.
we have a wire live trap, we put bacon in the back but prop it open for about 3 days once the weasel gets used to going into the trap and getting the nummies we unblock the spring mechanism and BAM!!! "gotcha! ya little chicken munching bugger".
we don't release the weasel elsewhere, we kill it in the trap. Works for skunks as well.

I kept catching the weasel babies in the live mouse traps this summer. Strange...there were never any mice in the traps. Hmmm...

Only one change - 2(a) place open can of sardines packed in oil about 1 foot from hole.

(recommend 12 gauge with bird shot. Don't have to be to accurate.

We have caught one finally now to catch the other one!!

Whhooooooohoooooo I have not lost another chicken for a while now!! We caught two weasels one larger than the other. I am sooo happy as they managed to pretty much decimate my young heritage birds. Out of approx 40 young birds I only have 6 or so left because of those peaks. They also killed both my silkie Roos, and all but one poor hen, my lavender ameracauna roo, and one of my big black Aussie hens. The silkies were the most heartbreaking because my beautiful "green" white roo was looking awesome for breeding to my hens of which I had 3 blacks and 2 blues and I have the worst looking hen left!

At least, praying, we are fine with those pests for a while anyways.
