I have a exceptional husband. When I married him we were in our forties. My second marriage, his first. Yes, he was a 40 year old bachelor, never married, never lived with a girlfriend, set in his ways.
So I changed all that and on top of it all dragged him out to the country. Yes, he was a lifelong city boy.
As you know, it is often tricky to get someone out to do construction and maintenance when you live miles from nowhere. This amazing man has learned to fix things on his own, with no previous experience. He has embraced electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, and now mechanics. Recently he has stripped down and refurbished two motorcycles and a lawn tractor. Currently he is working on two more motorcycles and yet another lawn tractor. He fixes the quad as well and recently been eyeing the old diesel tractor.
I love him and his ability to adapt to these new skills is amazing.
