He has not been as robust as the others from the get go. Last night we had thunder showers all night. For some reason he huddled alone in a corner and got himself a bit wet instead of staying warm and dry. This morning I picked him up, eyes closed, wheezy and gave him some tetracycline and electrolyte solution with a dropper and put him inside under the heat lamp. It is NOT looking good for this little guy. The past couple of days have been a bit challenging and I surely do not want to lose him. Anything else I can do?

It sounds like you are doing everything you can for this little guy. Maybe you should be treating for cocci? Not sure if tetra is enough, hopefully others will give you better advice. Sick Little Turkey Hug

Sometimes it is just failure to thrive. Seen it in some of my turkeys before. If they were chilled when younger, or had trouble hatching it sets in and I have never seen them come out of it. My daughter is nursing one right now but I told her it might be best just to send her off to heaven, not sure they would make good adult turkeys in the end anyways?

The poor little thing did not make it through the night. What a sad loss.

Sorry for your loss. I agree with Hidden about turkey poults not thriving after a difficult hatching or getting chilled. It never seems to work out with turkeys to go above and beyond, they just don't thrive and end up dying or having to be put down as young adults. As sad as it is for the best Sad
