This baby was born July 3rd she weighed about 38 lbs.

Ah, the babes of the world. Thirty-eight pounds, that's half the size of my big dog, well, a little less than half. Never seen a new born calf, so now have a pretty good idea of what the size of one that weight would be, beautiful.....have an awesome day, CynthiaM.

These are lowline Angus which is a breed that is similar to the Angus of the 1930s they are about 60% of the size of the present day Angus.
A normal Angus calf today could weigh 90lb plus and the cows finish around 1300-1600 lb with the bulls at close to 3000lb if they are big ones. Our cows average 800lb at maturity and the biggest lowline bull i have seen is about 1500lb.
