How much does standing hay usually sell for?

We have been looking for someone near us to hay about 25 acres for us and have found someone who may just buy it standing from us. We would rather keep the hay, but really would like it cut at least. There was a guy going to cut, bale and stack it for us but he backed out last weekend because he couldn't find any other fields around here to do. He was asking $18/acre to cut and then $1.50/bale (sm squares).

This is probably not the best hay around - a bit weedy maybe, but mostly a grass mix - mostly a brome grass with a bit of timothy here and there.

Anyhow I have no clue what prices for this are like.

In this area it is 2/3's 1/3 split, the guy haying gets the 2/3's. Sorry don't know anything about standing.

Good alfalfa hay that has been fertilized generally goes for around $30 a ton standing.
