I keep getting a notice on youtube that soon it will no longer support whatever browser I am using, and tells me to upgrade. I installed Google Chrome and end up losing the page that I am familiar with and the icons on my favorite list..that was after I found my favorite list again after it disappeared into space!

Is there a way to install this new, improved browser, Google Chrome, but keep the same look of the page I see now?

Is there any real point to installing Google Chrome? What will happen if I don't? Warning: Anything you answer must be written as if for the simple of mind, I know NOTHING about computers or their language. Go easy on me.

Ohhh, I feel your pain. Technology is most wonderful thing when it works and absolutely the most frustrating thing when it doesn't!!!!
I do not have google chrome. Just regular google. At one point I did download it, but found that I was not familiar with it and eventually uninstalled everything related to it. Not sure if you will need to upgrade or not. Surely someone on here will know.
Now with my iPhone I never turn the old laptop on. I loveeeeeeeeee my phone, and I am as far from a high maintenance, techy, yuppie type person one can be.

YES there is a lot of points lol.

You can import your bookmarks by going to the wrench in the upper right hand corner and click on settings then in the search bar in the upper right type "import bookmarks and settings..." (with out quotes) then click on the button called "import bookmarks and settings...".

Now for points...

1) best JS rendering engine out there.
2) HTML5,CSS3. Adobe is killing flash, Microsoft killing silverlight, so youtube is going to HTML5 video player! Very Happy
3) Automatic Updates. Google chrome automatcilly updates so you all ways have the newest version etc etc

Could you update your current version of Internet Explorer? Or whatever are you using now? I might be able to help but not on here.

I switched to Google Chrome a while ago. It automatically trasphered my book marks, I think because I don't remember importing them. I find that I am really liking Google Chrome, because all of my favorite bookmarks that I use often are shown right on the home page in large boxes. And that's pretty cool! If I am googling something I just type it in the white bar along the top.

SIlkie, wish I had the big icons like you do. I have to use the drop down menu in "imported from IE' to get my favorites. Weird that I keep looking for FAVORITES and it doesn't exist up there anymore. This change is going to take some time. Maybe I can fiddle around and see if I can get my frequently used favorites as big icons.

But changing to Chrome seems to have somehow changed the resolution (?) of my screen. Everything seems...thinner and lighter. A little harder for me to see. Especially noticeable here on WCPS and FaceBook. Not sure what to do about that. Play with my settings? Maybe play with the screen? I never had this much trouble talking on the telephone! Sheesh!
