Last year at this time I took my turkeys to St. Paul for processing. The finished product was delish!
Not everyone thought so. I took one to my family's Thanksgiving dinner. I found the wonderfully seasoned and barbecued turkey delectible. It was firm, dark and flavorful. The skin was crunchy and juicy at the same time. Just what I imagine a lean wild turkey would taste like. Unfortunately my family called it tough and wild tasting.
I was planning to cook a huge 25 lb tom for the following Christmas, but no, my family rejected my turkey. From now on I will keep my home grown meat to myself.
Now I have a 25 lb turkey and we are a family of 2! I would love to trade this turkey for the equivalent in beef, pork, lamb, or even chicken that you have grown on your farm. An equal weight trade would seem fair to me.
The turkey in question was slaughtered and shrink wrapped at the St Paul processors. He was a Bronze turkey, one year old. I brought my turkeys home and put them straight into my brand new upright freezer where he has been for one year. I would be happy to trade him for 25 lbs of your own professionally slaughtered and processed meat.
If you would like to buy this humongous beast, that would be fine too, but I am not sure what to charge!
