I sold a trio of young Beltsville Turkeys to a person from Nanaimo and delivered them on Sunday, Sept. 11 at the Qualicum Bay swap. They live on a couple of acres but are withing the Nanaimo city limits and are finding the turkeys too noisy so want to return them.
I have no problem with this, but as I live on Denman Island won't be able to meet them until next Sunday. In the meantime we are looking for somebody nearer that could accommodate three turkeys, either for breeding or to process for use at Christmas.
At $15 each, I gave them a good deal with the hope they would establish a breeding flock of this very rare variety, but if their situation doesn't allow it, I have no problem taking them back.
I think the "noise" thing is more of "separation anxiety" and once they get used to their surrounding will settle down. Turkeys can be vocal when are startled or when strangers come into view, but normally are quiet.
If you are interested, please e-mail or pm me and I'll give you their contact information.
