Holy smokes its back to being hot and sunny here again. This weekend we had amazing thunderstorms and lots of lightening. Which unfortunately started a handful of wildfires. And now we are back to smokin hot. How's your weather in your neck of the woods?

Very hot here too about plus 35, but after the 40's this is a blessing. Mornings spent making sure the birds are comfortable and spending the hot afternoon in the house.

Hot here too, and heavy smoke.

My daughter saw a touch of blue sky this morning for only a moment. I asked if she had taken a picture so that we could all remember what it looks like.

A storm is blowing in, which hopefully give some relief from smoke, dryness and heat and hopefully give no additional problems. In our area, we have had less than 2" of rain since the snow melted. Somehow the water table is somewhat high but the surface of the land is dry as could be.

They say that some of these storms could be severe. The rumbling is certainly constant, but only a tiny sprinkle so far. We will see what happens over the next while I guess.

After seemingly endless heat it is suddenly cool again. Last night it actually dipped below freezing. Still no rain though!

We finally have had rain...and it is cooler...but frost now? That is unheard of at this time of year in our area. So very glad that we don't have that!

We had a big crack of thunder here a couple of nights ago. We still never found out what got hit (thinking that is a good thing). It was super close. We wondered if the trees beside the house got hit.
