I have had to put my chicken hobby on the back burner for a while until my kids grow up a little more.  I come here to live vicariously through all of you in that respect.  What I have to share is my love of gardening and food preservation.  Here are a few pics of my greenhouse for you!  This is some early lettuce

My tomatoes in gallon pots, waiting  to be planted in the unheated part of the greenhouse:

And my garlic!

My sweet potato slips.  I have built a pvc hot house for them.  Making a real effort this year to grow sweet potatoes!

Great pics and thanks for sharing.

Things around here are beginning to turn green.
I need to find my motivation to get some of my seeds started and get out there to till the garden and such.

Something about Gardening that just relaxes a person!

Cheers!

Bowker, that's lovely, it's snowing here and a picture of anything GREEN is a huge help.
I am just planting my tomatoes now, the first two are up. it will be mid June before I can plant outside..sigh.

My porch is full already.

It's so cold that only one of the potaoes in the big pot has come up yet...hurry, hurry darn you spuds! I want hand pollinated seedballs, so have a 10 gallon pot in the porch with two varieties I'd love to cross....if the darn things come up. Suppose they are so cold they don't want to come up yet, like me in the mornings when the house is cold and the blankets are warm... Very Happy

We have been planting peas outside. One field is done and the peas just started breaking the soil yesterday. Some rows started in another field but they're not coming up yet. Your tomatoes look great. We got a late start to ours this year. Gardening is relaxing and I love seeing pictures of other garden projects. It's inspiring.

Bowker Acres,

What I sure would like to know, is how you get your plants, especially tomatoes so strong? The stems on them are so strong. Beautiful

plants, by the way. Smile

My greenhouse gets cold at night so the plants don't grow so leggy or fast. Makes for a stronger plant.

How low do you let the temps get? Or is there just no heat in there, at all?
