Hello Everyone,

I have spent some time (along with TruNorth's wordsmithing ability's!) to lauch [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I decided to launch it to make a semi-centralized location on Alt.meat birds for North America. It is meant for both farmers and consumers - but mostly consumers

Website is well build. About the product or "goal set" IMO it is never good practice to constantly put down other "competitors" in order to make your product look better. Just prove you have a good product and get more business by word of mouth and leave the others out of it. Sorry my hat goes off to the big broiler farmers, we have a lot of mouths to feed and they are specialists in growing them for us. There are farmers now that grow the broilers all antibiotic free and with far less losses than us backyard breeders. Piet

I really have nothing against the broiler farmers - I have intement first hand knowledge of broiler production farms - what they do is not bad - however this is not geared to them. This is geared to free range environments where they do not excel because they never were meant too. There is no competition trust me free range meat birds are meant for small niche markets (in North America, but France is a different story). 90% of people I have talked to this year only know about commerical broilers.

This is not as much about gathering business as informing people.

So will you be unrolling a social media, newspaper, magazine and/or television campaign along with the site?

I wish - social media might be double - but this is a zero dollar thing and it's not just for Canada ( would have got a .ca if it was) this is meant for all of North America.

Berg's Hatchery also has a similar broiler to those available from the US hatchery.  Why are they not listed on the website? I like the website.

Many out here don't no about the poultry from Berg's either as they are not from the west coast, but rather in the middle. Members from Saskatchewan and Manitoba often state that they sell nice poultry. Air fare from Winnipeg to Kamloops makes for expensive poultry. I didn't know about the rustic broilers that are listed from Quebec.

Very nice website call ducks. But I would have to agree with Piet.
I have raised many Cornish x broilers and turkey's free range. Amazing the flavor of them after 6-7 short weeks.
In fact there is much research on the topic of free ranging broiler (cornish x). Vs other breeds you have listed on your website.
Have you become a member of the American pastured Poutry producers association? They have some excellent research papers and articles about the benefits/disadvantages of Cornish x vs alternative slower growing breeds.
There is definitely a market somewhere for the slower growing breeds. But what I've found in northern Alberta the market is for well kept healthy critters which yield a nice flavorful carcass at the end of their happy little chicken life.
