Who wants to join me on a camp out?

We have had no power since 11:30 last night. I have been told we should have power by 6:00 tomorrow, but could be up to two days before we have power again. It is a good thing my kids are used to life in the bush do they are not afraid to use the washroom outside. . They are also making the best of this night by playing cards in the candle light. I will move mattresses to one room so we can all sleep in the same room. We pailed water out of my well using a pail on a chain to water my animals. We used baby wipes to wash our hands, and water from the well that we pailed out. Luckily we have a BBQ for cooking on, and if it gets too cold in the house I can move everyone to our shop and light the wood stove in there if need be

That terrible smoky. Glad to here your kids are tough and can make the best of a crummy situation

so cool to hear you are making it fun. Love that :-). Wasn't it your kids who went on that memorial adventure where they dug a trench and slept in it? in real cold weather? I heard on the radio an expose wherein the question was posed, were Canadians getting soft - with all this extraordinary weather that has happened in the last month. They thought that perhaps overall they were but with attitude like yours, not everyone!

That was my boys that went to the trenches!! My kids also decided to see how cold they could handle and the slept in the outfitters tent at -15. I always figure we need to keep positive or we would sit in the corner and cry and what good would that do anyone? Lol

Good thing you have a farm and don't have time to sit and cry in the corner. That and corners are overrated   .

We had no power for three hours and now we have no landline. Can't win em all.

This is the stuff that family stories are made of. Remember the time the power went out....

Our entertainment tonight was my 18 month old playing catch the red dot!! I laughed so hard because every time we shut the later light off she would cry. If we shone it on the wall or ceiling she would yell at it and when we shone it on the floor she did her best to step on it then when she seen the light on her foot she would shriek!! Lol

Powers on!!!!

Our power was out all yesterday evening and night...but I cheated and fired up the generator... A lot of people in Northern BC are still out of power due to the windstorm last night. I was dodging trees falling across the road while driving home last night.

I heard it is pretty major in BC Heard a lot of places are not expectin power until Friday
