This is a reminder that Canadian Heritage Breeds, is hosting it's Annual General Meeting & Board Elections @ 7:00pm Friday November 22nd, 2013
It's important as a member you make an effort to attend the AGM.
 
Canadian Heritage Breeds Annual General Meeting  
Location: Westerner Park Red Deer, AB in the Agri-Centre West
Date: Friday November 22nd, 2013
Time: 7:00pm
Agenda: General Meeting & Board of Directors Election.
 
There are 4 Positions that are up for election on the board.
President, Treasurer, & (2) Directors 
 
Job description of each position: 
 
President
The President shall:
Preside at all meetings of CHB.
Provide leadership to CHB that will result in attaining the objectives of the Association.
Exercise general supervision and direction over the business of the Association.
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to other Board members so they may take an active part in the affairs of CHB.
Provide an orientation of new Board members immediately after the election.
Provide an opportunity for the Vice-President to share responsibilities for assuming the position in the new term of office.
Initiate appropriate workshops or other in-service training for Board members and the total membership that will improve the functioning of the Association.
Represent the Association in the community and with other community organizations
 
Treasurer 
The Treasurer shall:
Maintain such records as are required by the Board.
Provide a certified financial statement of the records by the 15th day of January each year to the Board for approval.
Receive and deposit all funds of CHB in the bank designated by the Board.
Submit all bills for approval of payment to the Board.
Prepare cheques in payment of accounts for signatures.
Be available at the annual meeting at least one hour prior to the meeting to receive membership fees for the ensuing year.
Prepare the necessary documentation required for application for any grants that may be available to the Association and submit to the Secretary for submission before deadlines
 
Director(s)
The Directors shall:
Participate in ad-hoc and or standing committees as required.
Assist with committee duties as appointed by the Executive or the President.
Act as an ambassador to members for CHB to maintain the objectives of CHB.
Provide constructive information at meetings to maintain the objective of CHB.
 
 
 
Being on the Board...
 
CHB Board has 5 to 6 meetings a year in Central Alberta. We also have on average, 10 displays a year plus our annual poultry show weekend, as well a summer show/sale. You are expected to participate in 75% of these commitments. This is a large time commitment BUT there are many perks! 
 
Working towards a common goal with people that have the same passion.
Networking for your business/obsession.
Doing your part to educate to save our Heritage breeds.
Have input into the largest Heritage breed conservation group in Alberta.
Participate in Heritage breeds Seminars and Newsletters.
Become one of the focal persons for Heritage breeds in Western Canada.
Setup and run Heritage displays.
Become part of a group that the public comes to for information on Heritage breeds.
 
 
Nominations 
Nominations for the (4) four positions can be made by email prior to, November 22nd, 2013 or in person at the Annual General Meeting November 22nd, 7:00pm In Red Deer A.B. 
Remember to nominate an individual or to be a nominee you must have a current CHB membership.

Voting
All voting must be made in person at the AGM. In order for a vote to count, you must be in attendance at the AGM. 
Remember in order for your vote to be valid, you must have a current CHB membership.
