I had some chicks in a chicken tractor out of sight of my house and some are missing. I have checked it over and there is no way for them to escape or a critter to get into it (without tearing it to pieces) so am left to assume someone took them. Has anyone else ever had birds stolen?

Oh no, that is awful, really awful, and I am so sorry to hear that. Yes, I have read posts about people losing chickens to theft. This is sickening. Really, stealing someone's chickens, blah. More reason to dislike the human kind. I hope you can get to the bottom of it, geeeze.....even when bad things happen, I still wish for the person to try to find something to make something in the day happy, CynthiaM.

I have had chicks in a rabbit cage in my shop, I figured they were safe, then I noticed a bunch were missing. When I went searching, I found feathers by the kittens. Momma cats were ripping them through the bars, leaving no signs

I have also had the two legged predator help themselves to birds, but that was full grown birds, and they took hens and one roo!
I found my birds and retrieved them as the roo was pretty distinctive considering he had hatched with half a wing and only one eye!! To this day why they took Hook I will never know when they left my gorgeous ameracaunas roo

If the chicks can get their heads through the mesh, that's enough of a hole for a predator to reach through and grab them and eat them in chunks through the fence. Or grab them by the head and pull them through. Sad

I have very fine mesh so can't get through. No sign of struggle, nothing. The only way, other than busting the whole unit, to get in is to open the hatches.
