Get a serious one - not a handheld one with the small reservoir. Big bucks, but if you hate painting like I do, it will pay for itself with the first job. I even used mine to prime the inside of my studio (before the floors were done) and it was AWESOME.

Got the second coat of red on yesterday, and started putting on the new trim and repainting some of the existing trim today. Looks like a million bucks!

I will take a photo tomorrow when it's light enough. I had to work this afternoon/evening, so didn't have a chance to snap one today.

When do the perimeter flower beds go in? Annuals, Perennials or a mixture of the two?

Ain't nobody got time for that!

I would be more likely to plant useful things.

Mostly, though, I would rather build things than pull weeds.

We did a bunch of trim painting tonight, actually. Smile I could take photos every six hours and it would look different in some way!

Putting straight new trim on a crooked old building is not that much fun. Especially with a seven year old assisting. It got easier when my husband took pity on me and added his muscle to the pushing and pulling of boards. It's not perfect, but we're going with "close enough" - it offends my OCD, but short of tearing the building down and starting from scratch, there's nothing I can do about it!

It looks great! Love the contrast of rich red paint and white trim.

Haha authentic, you sound like my husband while we were renovating this summer. Things not being perfectly level or straight drove him bonkers. Me, I just go with it. Crooked shmooked. Nothing adding more wood in strategic places can't fix. Laughing I had to restrain myself after being told if I want a mickey mouse job I could do it all myself. Rolling Eyes

The secret to working with old buildings is DAP.

I think my studio is composed of approximately 10% DAP. lol

My tiny helper and I were putting the trim around the pop doors today. Clearly, not the one behind her. That one is the old pop door - leads into what I use for a storage area. I'm going to block it up prettily, but still have to do the framing in behind it and square up the hole. Whoever hacked a hole in the building didn't bother to stud around the hole, or, you know, make it straight.

Pop doors! They aren't installed yet, since they still need to be painted. They only have a coat of primer so far.

Yesterday, I built the last window frames, but they are in my basement for painting, so no photos of those. I pick up the glass tomorrow and then I can install them! (Approximate cost for lumber and glass for four windows = $100. Retail cost, probably $1200.)
