This is a long, awaited litter! I think she waited for me to get home from school tonight. H temperature did not drop at all. Today is day 62 from the first breeding.

We are done! In just over an hour she had three boys and a girl. The owner of the stud will be flying up to bring home a boy and I am delighted to be able to offer her quite the choice!

Congrats Sue and Joe! How lucky are you that they weren't born in the middle of the night.

My Maltese always had theirs in the early hours so i was up all night making sure all was well.

Nice and so quick too! I love having puppies, but I have to say I don't like having them in the winter.

Four and she is done. Happily nursing and giving the kitties the evil eye!

Since they are small, Coopslave, having them in winter is not hard. I have a system. Age 0 to 4 weeks they are in the whelping box in the kitchen. Mom takes care of them. No problems. After the first week mom usually has her muscle control again and can stay in the house all day without messing. After 4 weeks they can come to school. Mom comes at first but when they are weaned they come alone.

I have two great rabbit cages for them. One at home and one at school. They have a grid system in the bottom so the pups stay clean if I have to leave them for long periods. They also have wheels so I can move them to clean and so they can be rolled into other classrooms to visit.

Housetraining is easy. My back door opens on to a deck and fenced yard and there is not a stitch of carpet in the house.

Easy peasy!

So exciting! It's neat that you take them to school with you. Are they right in your classroom? How do you get the kids to focus with a cage full of cute little pups??

I teach special ed and my kids have the BEST focus in the world...when there are five kids and two teachers in the room!

It is amazing what a motovator that playing with puppies can be!

They are beautiful and so chubby and happy. What a nice Mom dog too. Feel lucky to have met them!
