For all you stargazers, the annual Perseid meteor showers begin tonight and will peak around 4AM. They will last a few days, but the best viewing will be late tonight or early tomorrow morning. Enjoy!

I'm planning to be out there as late as I can. It's a dead clear night - perfect for gazing at the heavens...if only I can stay awake. Might be worth setting my clock for the early morning hours.

I've been reading that tomorrow and the next night are the big show, but that it's been gearing up all week and will continue in the next while. But either tonight and/or tomorrow promise to be spectacular with 100s of 'falling stars' per hour. Like a Star @ heaven

I'm seeing most straight up right now. Bit they mostly originate from the constellation Perseus.

Lovely and clear out here in the middle of nowhere! Before we went in we were seeing 3-4 a minute and nice bright ones too. I had a good long look at the Andromeda galaxy as well. It is amazing to think that little smear of light is a collection of stars just like our milky way.

Cloudy in the East. Don't think I'll see them this year.

Went out at 11:00. Bright, sparkly sky but saw no action. Wonder why?

Went out at 10:30 and stood looking for a very long time wrapped in a blanket (it was COLD!) - lots of clear sparkling sky - big dipper etc but no movement. Maybe too low on the horizon at that time, hidden by the mountains? Not sure.
