Did I miss something here?? I've searched and searched my new old 1938 edition and they are not in it, can't find any mention of them. They are in the older ones why not this one? Does anyone here know about this tidbit of history? I was so looking forward to the old pictures Mad

Ya, I'm not scratching my head cause I got chicken lice, they are not in the index, no pics, no mention in the introduction, not even lumped in with rhode island reds. I've read their history, even Netties version but I don't remember anything about them being removed from the Standard. Do I maybe have a weirdycakes copy here? Does the APA have a historian that might answer this?

Hmmmm, might be a link to where you can download old SOP's (I haven't checked it yet though).

Buckeyes were removed from the APA SoP sometime in the late 1920's and didn't
make a comeback until the 1970's editions! I've heard a rumor that there are
some 1960's era editions in print that include the Buckeye but I've never seen
them.

I wonder why they were removed. Too uncommon at the time?

Ah yes, thank you Fowler.
I have used that site in the link before and have downloaded the 1910 sop. There is nothing like looking at the real printed pics though. I'd sure like to find copies of The Book of Poultry by MacMillans and Poultry Culture by Felch, there are some purty looking pics in there too.
