Does anyone have their incubators in there brooder house? Hubby has banned mine from being in the house so was wondering about putting it in my brooder house but was wondering if the fluff from the chicks will damage it in there

If you put it in the same building as your brooder house you would have to spray the dust off it a lot.
What would be best is to have a seperate room still attached to the brooder house, or within, but a barrier to prevent the dust accumulation so quickly.

I usually have ours behing me here in the office, but I used the travel trailer last spring when we were upgrading our electrical system. The incubator we have gets fluff and dust in the fan and wafer so between hatches I use compressed air to blow this out. The office here is probably not the ideal location because the a/c comes on and blows on the incubator although this may not be as big a problem this year as the thermostat is now beside where we put the incubator.

I wondered about making a small room in the brooder house, but have not fully decided as hubby has not figured that if we do radiant heat, we don't need power to it, so that will stop the idea of having the bator in the brooder house. I will actually have a sportsman bator and hatcher, so was thinking a 4x6 room would give me lots of space. I may just have to inform him we either put power to the chicken houses or I hatch in my basement.

I too, have a husband that really doesn't like chicks in the house. I have one incubator next to the computer in the living room. Another in the sewing room.
Brooder in boxes in the sewing room.
Chicken's on his side of the heated garage.

Not to be mean BUT when he starts talking about how much he dislikes it ....I reply " I don't like the fact that you smoke. When you quit. I will quit."

I would definitly use the smokin thing on hubby but he arrived home last night and informed me he has not had a smoke for two days. He is gone back to work but is determined not to smoke again. He is quitting cold turkey so i dont dare use the smoking trick!! That would have been a good one though

my incubators are in the spare room beside the master bedroom and has the computer room on the other side. It is a very dusty room because I have the boxes where I keep my baby chicks in the room also until the chicks go outside in the heated brooder room. I guess I like having the incubators close because of the common power outages we have had........
