Hi there,

I am interested in fooling around with genetics a bit and wonder if anybody knows which breeds have the longest hackles.

Anybody?

Nora

Hi Nora! Welcome, glad you found the place!! Hope you're enjoying your little pullets and cockeral Laughing

as for the longest? Id geuss a very large breed would have longer ones *shrug* My Blue laced red wyandotte rooster has hackle feathers about 6+ inches long. Its too bad I didnt know you a month ago before I butchered a bunch of roosters. I had a bunch of Ameraucana roosters with BEAUTIFUL hackle feathers and saddle feathers, would have been perfect for your thingies you make lol
